About Me
When you live in the state of Alabama you are either born or choose to be an Alabama fan or an Auburn fan. I was raised an Alabama fan and my entire family attended the University of Alabama. My senior year of high school I made the huge decision to attend Auburn University. I had visited Auburn with a friend and it immediately felt like home. I decided that Auburn University was where I wanted to start my future. This was not only huge for me but my whole family as well. Coming from a family that is full of engineers and business majors, I knew from the start I had different plans for my future and that Auburn was the place to start them.
Once upon a time, I wanted to be a teacher. Then, I wanted to become a nurse. I then realized neither of those were exactly what I wanted to do. Around this time I learned about HDFS. I chose Human Development and Family Studies without knowing exactly what it was. I started my freshman year and before the end of the first semester, I was in love. Ever since I was a child myself, I absolutely loved working kids in any form or fashion. Although I have not decided on what exactly I want to do, I know I am in the right major.
In life I value many things. I value people, good work ethics, and so much more. I think that people often ignore emotions and feelings about certain things but I believe that emotions are very powerful and useful. I am also very passionate about helping others. Throughout high school I was a group leader at my church’s vacation bible school as well as being an assistant dance teacher at my local dance studio. I do not always have the free time to volunteer, but I do like to do small tasks for friends and family when they are not expecting it. I think it is important to be efficient and sometimes that means doing things that no one else wants to do, big or small. If I could do whatever I wanted to do in life and get someone to pay me for it, I would choose spending my time with children. I truly feel happiest when I work with kids and if I got paid to play and positively impact children’s lives, nothing would make me happier.
I am excited about the future and I can’t wait to see what is yet to come!
